A Calm Plan for Holiday Stress
The holidays can be lovely and exhausting at the same time. A little planning ahead protects the lovely part.
Heads up: a few links here are affiliate links, explained on how we earn.

Pick three things that matter
Write down the three holiday moments you'd genuinely miss. Protect those first; everything else is optional.
Say no to one thing
One event, one gift exchange, one dish. Short scripts help: "I can't this year, let's do January." "I'll bring dessert only." "I'm heading out at eight."
If negative thoughts tend to get loud for you at night, Delete Script is one nightly audio made for exactly that. Read our honest notes first if you'd like the caveats.
Schedule rest like an event
Put an empty evening in the calendar each week of December, and treat it like a commitment. Use it for nothing in particular.
Plan your exit time
Decide in advance when you'll leave a gathering. Having an exit time makes it easier to enjoy being there.
After the busy days
Expect an emotional dip after big gatherings; it's normal. A slow day, a walk and a page of writing help you land. If the season brings up heavy thoughts that linger, our journal prompts for overthinking are a good place to start, and talking to someone you trust is better still.
